MASH 4077

A Legendary Era of Television, M*A*S*H* 4077

Your grandmother probably remembers this show.

The fictional but loosely based on the real 8055th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital unit in the Korean War. From 1972-1983 which is roughly three times longer than the war, the show was based on. Running for 11 whole seasons with 256 episodes shared between them it'd take you roughly 5 days, 5 hours, and 30 minutes to completely binge this masterpiece of daytime television.

This show was the cultural icon of the late 20th century, a movie first, then a show airing about the Korean War, during another brutal conflict of the Cold War, the Vietnam War. M*A*S*H had to entertain and give commentary without publicly condemning it. Nuanced and clever humor was the center of the entire show and had millions of homes entertained on their final episode "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" Had the record of the most tuned-in television broadcast ever aired. It was said in New York City, people would gather outside of public TV stores just to watch the final moments of their long beloved characters.

M*A*S*H* is a personal favorite of some of us at Bunker 27, and most likely of your parents and or grandparents, next time, offer to watch this piece of daytime television with them. You'll be in for a long...long binge.
